What do we do?
We supply 10mm thin double glazing for the restoration of historic buildings. Histoglass is designed to be installed into existing timber and metal frames without altering the fine detailing of the glazing bars.
It is the only product of its kind to fully comply with BS EN 1279 (parts 1-6) and is covered by a 7 year manufacturers warranty. The systems are available in a wide range of thicknesses and glass types to suit the age of a building, each with differing thermal and acoustic insulation properties.
Warm-edge technology is now standard for conventional double glazing, however, we use an aluminium spacer with a secondary seal. Why don't we use warm-edge technology?
We also specialise in insulating laminated single glazing and genuine traditional single glazing.
Sustainability
Together with our manufacturers and their suppliers, we continually look at reducing our carbon footprint. In Germany, the reduction of carbon emissions has already been an ongoing theme since the 80s. Making sure to re-use heat from kilns for the heating of the buildings, using Green Energy and packing materials which are recycled and recyclable.
Glazing Systems
We offer 3 different systems. Our
thin double glazing is the result of more than 25 years of research. We also offer laminated insulating single glazing and specialised genuine old types of single glazing. Each system has its own advantages and depending on the insulating values required, available rebate dimensions and budget, a system can be chosen.
Glass Types
The most common glass in production today is float glass. This can be supplied in tempered / toughened and laminated versions. However, we have a wide variety of historic glass types manufactured for us that can be used as the outer pane in our units. Whether it’s machine or hand-drawn glass, cylinder glass or obscured glass.
